Day 1 AIRPORT - NEGOMBO

Upon arrival in Sri Lanka—often late in the evening—you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to Wallawwa by Teardrop Hotels, a beautifully restored 18th-century manor house just 15–20 minutes from the airport. Despite its proximity to Colombo’s international gateway, Wallawwa feels like a secluded sanctuary, surrounded by lush tropical gardens and offering a calm, refined atmosphere.
Perfect for weary travellers, the hotel combines colonial charm with contemporary luxury. Spacious rooms feature plush bedding, rain showers, and thoughtful touches that make you feel instantly at ease.

Day 2 NEGOMBO

Day 3 NEGOMBO - HABARANA

On arrival at Taru Villas – Maia, you’ll settle into a boutique retreat tucked within a forested landscape. Evening Visit to Sigiriya Rock (Approx. 3 hours)
In the late afternoon, head to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic sites. This massive rock rises 200 meters above the surrounding plains and is home to an ancient citadel built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century. Climb past frescoes, the famous Mirror Wall, and through the Lion’s Gate to reach the summit. The views from the top are spectacular, offering a rewarding end to the day.
Day 4 HABARANA - MINNERIYA NATIONAL PARK

Spend a restful morning at Taru Villas – Maia, enjoying the peaceful forest surroundings. You might take a dip in the infinity pool, read on your private veranda, or simply listen to the sounds of nature while you unwind.
In the afternoon, head out for an exciting jeep safari in Minneriya National Park, best known for its large gatherings of wild elephants. The park is home to herds that roam freely near the Minneriya Tank, especially during the dry season when water sources draw them in. Apart from elephants, keep an eye out for deer, buffalo, monkeys, and a variety of birds. The safari lasts around 3 hours and offers a chance to see wildlife in a natural, open setting as the sun begins to set over the plains.
Day 5 HABARANA - MADUKELLE

After breakfast, check out and visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic heritage sites. Inside the temple’s five caves, you’ll find centuries-old murals and over a hundred statues of the Buddha carved into the rock.
From there, begin the scenic drive to Madulkelle. The landscape shifts dramatically—from dry lowlands and open plains to the cool, misty highlands. As you climb, you’ll pass tea estates, waterfalls, and dense forested hills that hint at what’s to come.
On arrival at Madulkelle Tea and Eco Lodge, you’ll check into your tented lodge perched high above the valley. Designed in the style of colonial explorer camps, the lodge blends luxury with nature. With just 19 rooms, it’s a peaceful setting surrounded by mountain views, working tea fields, and crisp highland air. The property includes a pool, an organic garden, and open spaces to take in the serenity.
In the afternoon, head out on a short two-hour Mini World’s End trek. The path takes you through local village trails and tea plantations while your guide explains the native plants and wildlife. At the edge, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views over the Knuckles mountain range.

Day 6 MADUKELLE

Drinking water, snacks, and a birdwatching guidebook are provided, along with leech socks or herbal repellent if needed. The best time to begin is between 8 and 9 AM.
In the evening, return to the hotel for a tea tasting experience. With the Knuckles mountains as your backdrop and surrounded by the very fields that grow it, you’ll sample a variety of Ceylon teas—like BOPF, PECO, and green tea—while learning how each one differs in flavour, aroma, and style.
Day 7 MADUKELLE - COLOMBO
