DAY 1 NEGOMBO

You will be transferred to your beachfront hotel in Negombo, just a short 20-minute drive from the airport. After a long flight, you can enjoy a meal, take a shower, and rest. Wake up to the peaceful sound of the waves breaking on the shore.

DAY 2 NEGOMBO

Explore Negombo

Highlights

Wake up to the soothing sounds of the Indian Ocean. After an early breakfast, take a trip to the renowned Negombo fish market near the fishing harbor, affectionately called ‘Walla’ by the locals. Watch fishermen working together, pulling their nets ashore, separating their catch, and learn about the traditional methods of drying fish.

Afterward, head to the Muthurajawela Wetland Visitor Center for a boat tour to explore the wetlands— a vast shallow lake with inlets and islands, rich in biodiversity. The mangrove community in the lagoon is recognized as the most diverse of all mangrove communities on the west coast of Sri Lanka. The area is abundant in bird life and is also home to monkeys, estuary crocodiles, and monitor lizards. The marsh and its wildlife can be experienced with a boat tour lasting 2-3 hours. DAY 3 NEGOMBO | SIGIRIYA | HABARANA

In the afternoon, safari in Minneriya national park. Depending on the season of movements of elephants, safari park would be either at Minneriya / Kaudulla or Eco Park.

” Minneriya Park is a national park in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The park is a dry season feeding ground for the elephant population. The park was declared as a wildlife sanctuary in order to protect the watershed of Minneriya tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area. The tank is historically important for the country as it was built by King Mahasen in the 3rd century AD. ”

DAY 5 HABARANA | DAMBULLA | MATALE | KANDY

The mountains surrounding Kandy are adorned with buildings and houses nestled among lush greenery at the base, while their upper slopes are veiled in mist and boast pine forests and grasslands.

Welcome to Kandy! The hill capital and the venerated grounds of the last royal capital of Sri Lanka.

In the evening, enjoy the cultural performance filled with drumming and dancing.

It’s also a wonderful way to observe local life up close, with villages and everyday scenes unfolding along the route.

On arrival, check in for lunch or an afternoon high tea at the Grand Hotel, a colonial-era landmark in Nuwara Eliya.

DAY 8 NUWARA ELIYA | ELLA | YALA

After breakfast, check out and visit a tea estate and factory to see how Ceylon tea is made. Follow the journey from plucking the tender leaves to sorting, processing, and tasting, before it reaches the cup. Gain insight into daily life on a tea estate, where tradition and hard work come together to produce one of the world’s finest teas. Though the estates are set in breathtaking landscapes, the work is physically demanding, and workers face many challenges. Yet, the women plucking tea always greet visitors with warm smiles, a quiet reflection of their strength and resilience.

Thereafter, proceed to Ella to visit Little Adams peak, Ravana waterfall and the Nine Arch Bridge.

“Nestled between the upcountry wet zone and low country dry zone, Ella offers diverse landscapes, from lush montane forests to dry evergreen forests. Once home to the indigenous Vedda people and later part of the Kandyan Kingdom, it became a British tea plantation hub and is now a bustling tourist destination with bars and coffee shops.”

Thereafter, stop at the Buduruwagala rock statues en route to Yala.

Under her guidance, you will prepare local dishes while enjoying the cultural ambiance of the historic Galle Fort. DAY 12 GALLE | AIRPORT
