The terrain is characterized by winding roads that climb steadily through scenic vistas, where the landscape gradually transforms. Lush green mountains, terraced paddy fields, and dense vegetation create a serene and picturesque environment. Before the 1800s, much of this region was covered in primary rainforests and cloud forests. Today, the Knuckles Mountain Range stands as a preserved reminder of these natural habitats. The area is home to a rich diversity of ecosystems, including semi-evergreen forests, sub-montane and montane zones, riverine habitats, and savannah grasslands. In between, tea plantations and paddy fields also thrive, coexisting with the abundant natural life.”

Along the way, you’ll pause for a refreshing break with a drink of king coconut, offering a moment to relax and stretch your legs amidst the beautiful surroundings.

You are now in the mountains, ready to trek through this beautiful and diverse region. As you explore ancient footpaths, you’ll encounter butterflies, birds, and other wildlife, while also experiencing the local culture of the villages nestled within the mountains.

Check into your safari tent at Wild Camping Knuckles, where you’ll experience a unique and immersive stay surrounded by nature.

In the evening, take a stroll along the bird-watching trail with naturalist. Frequent sightings include the Black Eagle, Pale-billed Flowerpecker, Yellow-fronted Barbet, Yellow-eared Bulbuls, Babblers, and White-throated Kingfishers. As a bird lover and nature enthusiast, this evening walk is a must to witness these magnificent creatures. Cherish the cool breezes, misty hills, and the sense of tranquility, carrying the essence of this paradise with you.
