DAY 1 NEGOMBO

Arrive in Sri Lanka and meet your local representative.
You will be transferred to your beachfront hotel in Negombo, just a short 20-minute drive from the airport. After a long flight, you can enjoy a meal, take a shower, and rest. Wake up to the peaceful sound of the waves breaking on the shore.
DAY 2 NEGOMBO
Highlights
Wake up to the soothing sounds of the Indian Ocean. After an early breakfast, take a trip to the renowned Negombo fish market near the fishing harbor, affectionately called ‘Walla’ by the locals. Watch fishermen working together, pulling their nets ashore, separating their catch, and learn about the traditional methods of drying fish.
Afterward, head to the Muthurajawela Wetland Visitor Center for a boat tour to explore the wetlands— a vast shallow lake with inlets and islands, rich in biodiversity. The mangrove community in the lagoon is recognized as the most diverse of all mangrove communities on the west coast of Sri Lanka. The area is abundant in bird life and is also home to monkeys, estuary crocodiles, and monitor lizards. The marsh and its wildlife can be experienced with a boat tour lasting 2-3 hours. DAY 3 NEGOMBO | SIGIRIYA

DAY 5 SIGIRIYA | DAMBULLA | MATALE | KANDY

During your journey through Matale, you’ll gradually ascend the hills and notice the transition from dry to wet climate, with denser vegetation. The mountains surrounding Kandy are adorned with buildings and houses nestled among lush greenery at the base, while their upper slopes are veiled in mist and boast pine forests and grasslands.

DAY 6 KANDY

As the train winds through lush greenery, passing through tunnels and along mountainsides, enjoy the scenic beauty of the landscape. It’s also a wonderful way to observe local life up close, with villages and everyday scenes unfolding along the route.
On arrival, check in for lunch or an afternoon high tea at the Grand Hotel, a colonial-era landmark in Nuwara Eliya.

DAY 8 NUWARA ELIYA | ELLA | YALA

After breakfast, check out and visit a tea estate and factory to see how Ceylon tea is made. Follow the journey from plucking the tender leaves to sorting, processing, and tasting, before it reaches the cup. Gain insight into daily life on a tea estate, where tradition and hard work come together to produce one of the world’s finest teas. Though the estates are set in breathtaking landscapes, the work is physically demanding, and workers face many challenges. Yet, the women plucking tea always greet visitors with warm smiles, a quiet reflection of their strength and resilience.
Thereafter, proceed to Ella to visit Little Adams peak, Ravana waterfall and the Nine Arch Bridge.

DAY 9 TISSAMAHARAMA

After breakfast, begin your day at a local buffalo barn where you can witness the milking process firsthand. Continue to a nearby farmer’s home to engage with your hosts, learn about rural life, and observe the traditional art of curd-making. The milk is expertly boiled for 45 minutes, then cooled and poured into clay pots to rest overnight—transforming into rich, creamy curd. You’ll end this experience by tasting the freshly prepared curd, often enjoyed with the sweet touch of kithul pani (treacle). This is a unique opportunity to connect with local traditions, flavours, and hospitality.
In the afternoon, set off on safari in Yala National Park.

DAY 10 YALA | AHANGAMA

After breakfast proceed to Ahangama on the south coast.
On your way to the excitement of beaches, you may optionally stop in Kudawella to witness the blowhole. The best period to visit is from end-April to October.
In the evening, embark on a tour of Galle;

Explore the Galle Fort, a World Heritage Site covering 90 acres, originally built by the Portuguese and later extended by the Dutch in 1663. DAY 11 AHANGAMA | GALLE

After breakfast, head to Galle Fort for a Sri Lankan cooking demonstration with Ms. Sanju. This immersive experience offers you the chance to learn about traditional Sri Lankan ingredients and cooking techniques. Under her guidance, you will prepare local dishes while enjoying the cultural ambiance of the historic Galle Fort. The session is interactive and provides valuable insights into Sri Lankan culinary traditions, making it a memorable part of your tour.
On your way back, you might want to stop at Dallawella Beach, a peaceful spot where wild turtles are often seen swimming close to shore. Local vendors sometimes sell small bags of seaweed, allowing you to gently feed the turtles if they come near. It’s a simple yet memorable experience—just be mindful and let the turtles approach at their own pace.

DAY 12 AHANGAMA | AIRPORT

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on your final day in Sri Lanka. As most flights depart around midnight,
an extended checkout until 6:00 PM is included.
We will leave the hotel at 7:00 PM and arrive at Katunayake International Airport by 9:30 PM, giving you ample time, about three hours before the midnight flight. This ensures a stress-free and relaxed departure experience.
